High Resolution Ftir Spectroscopy

چکیده

In FT-ICLAS, the aim is to improve the absorption detection sensitivity. The experiment combines IntraCavity Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (ICLAS) with FTIR spectroscopy. ICLAS is a well known instrumental technique in which a sample is inserted in a cell placed inside a broadband, multimode laser cavity. The laser is operating in pulsed mode and intracavity absorption rises as the laser wave builds up. An equivalent absorption pathlength of several kilometers is currently generated, leading to ultra high sensitivity. Different research groups have now performed such experiments with FTIR instruments to resolve the intracavity absorption, rather than with grating spectrographs with CCD detection. The set-up in Brussels will be detailed.

Synchrotron-based Imaging FTIR Spectroscopy in the Evaluation of Painting Cross-sections

A recently commissioned mid-infrared synchrotron beamline (IRENI) at the Synchrotron Radiation Center (SRC) in Stoughton, WI, provides wide-field illumination for an FTIR microscope equipped with a focal plane array (FPA) detector by bundling and collimating 12 beams extracted from the synchrotron source. This unique design enables Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) imaging applications that req...

Positionally dependent <supscr>15</supscr>N fractionation factors in the UV photolysis of N<subscr>2</subscr>O determined by high resolution FTIR spectroscopy

Positionally dependent fractionation factors for the photolysis of isotopomers of N20 in natural abundance have been determined by high resolution FTIR spectroscopy at three photolysis wavelengths. Fractionation factors show clear lSN position and photolysis wavelength dependence and are in qualitative agreement with theoretical models but are twice as large. The fractionation factors increase ...

High Spatial resolution FTIR imaging of biomedical tissue samples using a novel method of magnifi cation enhancement

Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) imaging is a well-established analytical method for obtaining spectral and spatial information simultaneously in the micron-size domain. Here the technique has been applied a to biomedical research. Over recent years, interest has increased in pushing the diffraction limited spatial resolution performance of FTIR imaging systems, primarily using synchrotron bas...

Ultra-high Speed Solid-state Ftir Spectroscopy and Applications for Chemical Defense

We introduce a new class of FTIR spectrometers capable of acquiring 6×10 – 1.4×10 interferograms (spectra) per second, over the spectral range of 1 μm – 12 μm, with a resolution of 10 cm or better. The new FTIR technology is based on the use of birefringence interferometers and employs photoelastic modulators (PEMs) as birefringent elements for ultra-high modulation speed. With characteristic d...
